Alton, NH



Frederick R. Wortman, Sr., age 75, of Heron Point Road in Alton, passed away March 1, 2012, at home.



Born January 25, 1937 in Melrose, MA, the son of Russell and Caroline (Porter) Wortman, he resided there for years, resided in Derry, NH for some years and resided in Alton for the past 20 years.



Fred was a United States Air Force Veteran. Prior to disability, due to an accident at work, he was employed as a Security Guard with Reliable Security at AT&T.



His hobbies included building models and drafting, he was an artist of oil paintings and loved working with wood matchsticks, building a house, an airplane, a Spanish Galley and candy dishes. A former CB radio operator, his handle was Robin Hood and his wife Maid Marion, he also designed t-shirts for fellow CB'rs. He had owned and operated a sign making business.



Survived by his wife of 45 years: Patricia A. (Clow) Wortman and sons: Frederick R. Wortman, Jr., Michael Seavey, Robert Seavey and Anthony Seavey, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a brother David Wortman, a sister Patricia Kene, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Caleb Wortman and a sister Marilyn Sturtevant.



A time of Memorial will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 3-7 pm at the American Legion, Claude R. Batchelder Post #72 on Route 28N in Alton, NH. Urn interment will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Wednesday at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303-2413.
