Fred H. Gray, age 89, of Wakefield Road in Union, died unexpectedly, October 5, 2021 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, of natural causes.

Born February 18, 1932 in Rochester, NH, son of John F. Gray and Edythe Mae (Langmaid) Gray Cilley, Fred was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1950.  He resided in East Rochester until moving to Union, NH in 1978.

Fred was a Veteran of the United States Army.   A Volunteer Firefighter, he served for over fifty years with East Rochester Fire Department and Union Fire Department.

Fred retired, as Shift Foreman, from the former Textron in Farmington. A self employed businessman, he had owned and operated with his family, Gray's Country Store in Union from 1974-1986.   Also, for many years, he managed Milton Lakeside Mart.

He loved playing cribbage with his children.

Predeceased by his wife Lucille Gray, to whom he was married from 1954-1982 & their son Fred H. Gray, Jr. in 2014, he is survived by his wife of thirty years: Terry L. Gray, his children: Sally & husband John Hildreth, Allan Gray, Rosie Gray and Amanda Fowler, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister Bette Hiltz, also many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by a sister Marion Burgess and brothers: John Gray, Jr., Robert Gray, Arthur Gray and Frank Gray.
