Frank L. Merrill, age 82, of Lebanon Road in Shapleigh, Maine, died August 6, 2014 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH.
Born September 12, 1931 in Seabrook, NH, the son of Truman F. and Irene A. (Carter) Merrill, he resided in Shapleigh, Maine since 2011, having come from Pittsfield, Maine.
Frank was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served for 13 years, including off the coast of Korea.
He was retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
A member of the American Legion, the D.A.V., and the N.R.A.
An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cleaning and repairing guns.
Survived by his wife of 40 years: Gladys V. (Scott) Merrill, his daughter: Laurie LaMontagne, 8 step-children: Sumner Watson, Scott Watson, Susan Pelletier, Sharon Hussey, Shirley Bilodeau, David Watson, Spencer Watson and Sara Watson, also many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister: Priscilla Marshall. He was predeceased by his son: Jason R. Merrill.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am.
