Obituary

Frank E. Lundy Jr, of Alton Bay NH, passed away at the age of 91 on December 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones.   He was born to Frank E Lundy Sr and Helen (Eames) Lundy in Newton MA on 08/02/1932.

Frank spent time in NH as a young boy with Doc and Evie Mooney.  They were neighbors while living in Newton MA and soon the Mooney's moved to Alton.  They took Frank skiing, boating and snowmobiling.  Frank had summer jobs in Alton, one that he enjoyed was working at the stables at Brook and Bridle Inn giving trail rides and working with the horses.  Frank was also a Jr ski patrol at Cranmore Mountain in North Conway at 14 years old.

Frank attended Newton High School in Newton MA.  He was drafted into the US Army in 1952, served during the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington until 1954.  He then served for 8 years in the US Army Reserve.  In 1955 he married his wife June on November 26, 1955, they were married for 68 years.  Frank and June started their family in 1956 in Newton MA.  In 1962 they moved to Framingham MA.

They had three children, Michael, Richard and Joanne.  The family spent most weekends and vacations in Alton Bay NH before moving to Alton in 1974.

Frank was self-employed as an excavation contractor owning hisbusiness for 65 years.  Work was one of Frank's biggest passions.  Other passions were spending time with family and friends at the lake enjoying snowmobiling and boating.

At 88 years old Frank could still be seen running his backhoe and meeting the guys at the diner in the morning.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Frank E Lundy Sr and Helen Flynn, a sister Nancy Bill.

Frank is survived by his wife June, their children Michael, Richard and Joanne all of Alton NH.  Grandchildren Joseph Lundy of Alton NH and Stephanie Lundy and a great-granddaughter Sadie June Lagrant of Alton NH.  Nieces in MA, MI and VT.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the American Legion in Alton NH from 2pm – 5pm.
