IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francis Frederick
Perry, Jr.
February 5, 1945 – February 12, 2024
Brookfield, NH
Francis Frederick Perry, Jr. (Fred), age 79 passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 after a two year battle with a Glioblastoma (brain tumor). While he has left his earthly home, he now rests with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Fred was born on February 5, 1945 to Frank and Betty Perry, Boxford, MA. After Fred graduated from Masconomet Regional High School, Topsfield, MA in 1963, he went on to study at Norwich University, Northfield, VT. Two years into his degree, Fred left Norwich to join the Coast Guard during Vietnam. At the end of his 4 years with the Coast Guard, he returned to Norwich to finish his degree and graduated as one of the first civilians from the historically ROTC institution.
After graduating with a degree in Business, he started his lifelong career in sales. For the last 25 years he worked as a Realtor for Maxfield Real Estate, Wolfeboro NH.
Fred met his spouse Cheryl in the eighth grade at a get-to-know you school dance with his iconic pick-up line of, 'want to dance, sugar babe.' While the two didn't start dating immediately, they were "going steady" before the end of high school. In 1969, a year prior to the end of his service with the Coast Guard, Fred married Cheryl Ann Connor from Middleton, MA. Fred and Cheryl went on to have three beautiful girls, Kristan Noel Sheffer, Lauren Beth Pollard and Katelyn Ann Zwart.
Fred's favorite pastimes included boating, swimming, fishing, camping and gardening but most importantly spending time with family. In his own words, 'Family is Everything.' He was devout in his faith and integral to the community of Trinity Anglican Church, Rochester, NH. Regardless of how you knew Fred, work, school, church or other, you undoubtedly would remember his sense of humor and the special way he had of embellishing a story.
He is survived by his spouse Cheryl Perry, his daughter Kristan Sheffer, daughter Lauren Pollard, son-in-law, Lee Pollard, daughter Katelyn Zwart, son-in-law Derek Zwart and grandchildren Kurtis Sheffer, Abigail Pollard, Alexis Pollard and Ann Zwart.
Services will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Rochester, NH on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, an organization dedicated to transforming the care of Glioblastoma by replacing radiation and chemotherapy with targeted therapies that prolong survival and increase quality of life.
