Father Jon Carl Martin, died on Thursday, Nov. 30th, 2025 at Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH.
Born in Madison, Maine, on June 6th 1938. Parents: Gordon & Celina Martin. Brothers: Robert MacDonald & David Martin. Nieces: Kitty, Shelley, Robin & Shirley. Nephews: Kerry, Scott, Brian & Paul.

1965 - Bachelor of Arts
Ordained on February 10, 1965 by Cardinal Cushing at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
First Assignment was at St.Michaels' Church in Lowell. In 1973 Fr. Martin was transferred to St. Robert Bellarmine in West Andover. In 1981 at the request of Cardinal Mederios, Fr. Martin was asked to take up the challenge at St. James Parish in Salem. Being called to St. Patricks in Stoneham, in 1985, did much work co-ordinating the centenary celebrations for the parish, ending with a 2000 people parade.
In 1986 he was made Pastor of St. Joseph Parish untill 1994.
His talents were put to use producing musicals and developing a concert choir wich travelled about and made two albums.
Father Martin has worked with The Boston Catholic television centre for about 20 years and was a regular on the catholic station. His series "Reach for the apple" and "Fr. Jon's Medicine for today" is seen in many dioceses in the country.
In order to raise funds for his favourite charity, "Camp Fatima E.C. Week", Father Martin worked during his vacation time with a summer stock company from New York. His theatre credits among many were having the character leads in "1776" as Ben Franklin, "Scapino", "Sunshine Boys", "Annie get your gun", "Mass appeal" and Tevye in "Fiddler on the roof". For over 32 years Fr. has been a part of "Camp Fatima E.C. Week" as its director to program to working with the young people in the dining hall.
As one of The Singing Priests of the Archdioces, he has performed numerous times at City Hall Plaza in Boston for the mayor concerts and performed numerous concerts for many of the parishes of the Archdioces.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11, 2025, 11:00am, at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road in Alton, NH., a calling hour prior to the Mass from 10:00am - 11:00am, with Fr. Robert F. Cole, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison, ME.
