Everett G. Rogers, age 98, of Old Bay Road in New Durham, died peacefully on July 10, 2014.
Born August 15, 1915 in Wolfeboro, the son of Lucian and Edith (Elliott) Rogers, he was raised in Alton.
In his earlier years, he was in CCCamps, where he worked on building the tramways and forestry work in the White Mountains. He was a farmer for many years and in later years worked for Charles DiPrizio & Sons, until his retirement in 1982. Since then, he and his wife Elizabeth have worked on their farm.
He was recipient of the Boston Post Cane for New Durham, the past 5 years.
Everett was a kind and loving man, greatly loved by all his family. He will be remembered for his honesty and great sense of humor. He enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences growing up. In his later years, he and his wife have been cared for in their home by his younger son David, his wife Christine and their son Sheldon.
Survived by his beloved wife: M. Elizabeth (Duff) Rogers of 68 years, 1 daughter: Jane (Rogers) and husband Russell Broderick of Middleborough, MA, 2 sons: Kenneth and wife Paula Rogers of Pittsburg, NH, David and wife Christine Rogers of New Durham, NH, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister Ruth (Rogers) Ford.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 11am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH with Pastor Alfred Weeden, officiating, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am. Interment will be private at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wolfeboro.
