Evelyn M. Locke, born on July 28, 1930, died at the age of 94 in the early morning hours of May 1, 2025. She was the mother of four children; May Locke Sganga, Richard Locke, Nathan Locke, and George Locke. She was also a grandmother, great grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. Evelyn was born in the town of Strafford, and lived her entire life in New Hampshire. She was raised on a family farm and worked hard from an early age to help make the enterprise a success. She was married in 1950 to John Locke and moved to Barnstead, NH where the couple built a house and raised a family before divorcing after twenty-five years of marriage.

Evelyn eventually went to work for the State of New Hampshire and served as a psychiatric services technician at the State Hospital for over twenty years before retiring from that facility. Besides being a devoted family member, she was known for being a hard worker, a gifted gardener, a reliable member of her local church, and the local Ladies Fellowship, she was also a generous benefactor for numerous charities both locally and nationally.

A service will be held at Higher Ground Ministries (595 S Barnstead Rd, Center Barnstead, NH 03225) on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11am, followed by urn interment at South Barnstead Cemetery.
