Evelyn Blanche Lepene, age 96, of Spring Street in Farmington, died May 10, 2013 at the Epsom Manor.
Born September 17, 1916 in Grafton, NH, the daughter of Earl and Della (Smith) Chellis, she had resided in Farmington, NH since 1967.
In earlier years, she worked in Farmington, NH shoe factories. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Farmington and the Historical Society in Farmington. Gram loved word search puzzles, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and making crafts for the church fair.
Widow of the late Gordon Barnes and the late Lawrence "Jack" Lepene, she is survived by a daughter Lois Mills a grandson: Bruce and wife Pam Mills, a granddaughter: Debbie Osgood, two step-children: Richard "Dick" Lepene and Roberta Danaher, also several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, 3 loving sisters: Ellie Tarbox, Blanche Wooster and Rita Moody, also many nieces and nephews, who helped her. She was predeceased by 2 step-sons: Donald Lepene and Ronald Lepene, 2 brothers: Stubby (Shirley) Chellis and Little Herman Chellis, 3 sisters: Irene Chellis, Nip Elizabeth Tetreault, Jinks (Virginia) Vorron.
The Lepene family always welcomed her into their hearts and families. She was very close with her granddaughter Anne Lepene-Petersen.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am. Over the years, she contributed to her church in many ways.
