NEW DURHAM — Elsie Dora (Lussier) Gagnon, 76, of Merrymeeting Road in New Durham, died Dec. 15, 2010, at Rochester Manor.
The daughter of Henry and Belleanna (Thibeault) Lussier, she was born June 22, 1934 and raised in Peterborough and had resided in New Durham for the past 50 years.
A homemaker, she was a former Den mother for Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America, a Brownie leader for Girl Scout Council of America and she coordinated Red Cross swimming lessons in New Durham.
Predeceased by her husband, Hilaire V. Gagnon, who died Oct. 14, 2010, she is survived by their four children, Kathleen Hurd, Kenneth Gagnon, Kristine Gagnon and Kathryn Gagnon; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Lussier and two sisters, Ida Baldwin and Jane Baird, also several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road, (Route 28N) in Alton, N.H., with Fr. Robert Cole, pastor, as celebrant. A visitation is before the service from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton.
