NEW DURHAM -- Elsie Dora (Lussier) Gagnon, 76, of Merrymeeting Road, died Dec. 15, 2010, at Rochester Manor.

The daughter of Henry and Belleanna (Thibeault) Lussier, she was born June 22, 1934, raised in Peterborough and resided in New Durham for the past 50 years.

She was a former den mother for Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America, a Brownie leader for Girl Scout Council of America and she coordinated Red Cross swimming lessons in New Durham.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hilaire V. Gagnon, Oct. 14, 2010.

Family members include four children, Kathleen Hurd, Kenneth Gagnon, Kristine Gagnon and Kathryn Gagnon; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Lussier; two sisters, Ida Baldwin and Jane Baird; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road (Route 28N) in Alton, with the Rev. Robert Cole, pastor, as celebrant. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough at 1:30 p.m.
