Elmer H. Stedfast, Jr., age 91 of Rochester, died August 11, 2011 at the Rochester Manor Nursing Home.
Born May 12, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Elmer H. and Gladys (Manning) Stedfast Sr., he had resided most of his life in Eastchester, New York and has resided in Rochester since 1999 having moved from Hampton, NH.
A World War II Army Veteran.
Elmer retired as a Sales Planning Manager for the General Foods Company of White Plains New York.
He was a former Volunteer Fireman and Deputy Chief for the Eastchester, New York fire department. While in Hampton he and his wife formed the Hampton Walkers. He was an active member of the Community Church Of Milton. Hobbies included riding on trains, and viewing old trains.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Eleanor May (Taatjes) Stedfast of Rochester, 4 Children: Anne Stratton of Apple Valley, California, David Stedfast of Langhorne, PA,, Linda Beauchamp of Rochester, NH and Janice Stedfast of Lakewood, CO, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Community Church of Milton 7 Steeple Street Milton on August 21, 2011 at 3 :00pm with the Rev. Betsy Webber officiating.
