from complications after a surgery at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

, 1940 in Kittery, ME to Eugene A. Lewis and Hildred V. (Cheney) Lewis. Elmer grew up in Kittery, ME and lived there for almost 65 years. Graduated from R. W. Traip Academy in 1959. Then worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 31 years as a Naval Architecture Technician after completing the apprentice program in 1963. He served on the Kittery Planning Board from 1970-1978.
Elmer is predeceased by his wife, Jean Lasseter Lewis. He is survived by his sisters, Pauline Grover and Priscilla Gavel, two sons, Allan and Stephen, and four daughters, Ginger, Lisa, Kathryn, and Marilee, as well as eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Whether his, or Jean's, or married into the family, he loved each as his own.
Elmer had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and served as an active member of Eliot Baptist Church prior to moving to Kentucky and attended Bethany Baptist Church in Alvaton, KY.
