Dr. Elizabeth Stickney Shortle died at home surrounded by her family on July 6, 2015 after a short and tragic battle with cancer. Liz was born in Malden, MA on April 24, 1945 but grew up in Maine and called it home until she moved to NH for college where she married her faithful husband of 49 years, Dr. Walter Shortle. Side by side they made a home and a family, raising four daughters and welcoming four sons-in-law and fifteen grandchildren. Despite spending much of her life working as a pioneer in education as well as earning numerous degrees all while being a wife, mother and grandmother, her family always came first. She loved them well. Dr. Shortle was indeed a worthy woman and though her death was tragic her life was nothing short of victorious. We will celebrate her life together on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 6pm at Liberty Chapel (5 Highland Ave. Milton Mills, NH). The celebration will continue after the service just around the corner at the family home.
