Eleanor Ruth Wentworth Carter (Suzy), age 94 of Sanbornville, NH passed away suddenly on May 9, 2021. She was born in 1926 In Somerville, MA to Mary (Cutler) Wentworth and Edward S. Wentworth. Her beloved grandfather, William E Wentworth lived with them and gave her the nickname of Suzy Short Drawers, which became just Suzy. They lived in Somerville, MA but traveled to Lovell Lake in Sanbornville, NH every summer to their wonderful "camp" on the lake. As a teenager on the lake, she met her future husband, Charles R. Carter, whose family also had a camp in the next cove. They were married in July 1947 and lived in Danvers, MA for many years. She was a wonderful seamstress and made beautiful clothes for her family. Her handwork was spectacular; she crocheted, knit, hooked rugs, braided rugs, quilted, needlepoint, and embroidered. She loved to cook, and her family and friends enjoyed many wonderful meals. In 1976 Charlie and Suzy moved full time to Sanbornville, NH and Lovell Lake. Suzy is predeceased by her parents, her husband Charlie and her sister Lillian Olney. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Ruth Carter Blaylock and husband William, grandsons Andrew Blaylock (Adrienne) and Stuart Blaylock (Scott Stevens) and great granddaughter Eleanor Blaylock, who was named for her great grandmother; son David Carter and, wife Karen ;step grandchildren Matthew and Kevin Strickland; two step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday June 11 th at 10:30 am at the Lovell Lake Cemetery at Route 153 and Route 109 in Sanbornville. Donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Wakefield 2718 Wakefield Rd. in Sanbornville, NH 03872.
