Eleanor May (Lamper) Waterman, affectionately known as Ditty, wife of William Waterman (deceased), passed away January 23, 2025, at her Alton Mountain home; after a long battle with cancer.

Born on January 2,1940 to Robert and Marion Lamper (both deceased). Siblings: Shirley, Gloria, and Rodney (all deceased).

Eleanor's children: Kevin Waterman and wife Julie, Bruce Waterman and wife Sharon, daughter: Sherry Waterman, grandchildren: Heather Waterman, Kevin Bently, Calianne Malo, Steven Waterman and wife Lindsey, Stephanie (Waterman) Sirrine and husband Dillon, great grandchildren: Jayden, Keira, Mia, Kaya, Emily, Sydney, Wyatt, Mason, Russell, and Elinore, stepchildren: William Waterman (deceased) and wife Mary, Rodney Waterman and wife Julie (both deceased,) Harry Waterman and wife Marylee, and all of their children. Along with many nieces and nephews.

She always had a ready smile. A witty sense of humor and a beautiful personality. Eleanor never had a problem making quick friends.

She was a member of the Alton American Legion Auxiliary for 32 years, where she enjoyed participating in various events.

Throughout the years Eleanor enjoyed family events, cookouts, horseshoes, fishing, camping and singing. She was most happy while with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. At the age of 75, she conquered the Mount Major trail.

A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Alton American Legion Auxiliary.
