Obituary

Eleanor Come, 92, passed away peacefully at home in Alexandria, NH on December 19, 2023.

Eleanor was born on December 21, 1930, in Barre, VT to Henry A. and Dorinda I. (Come) Gerlack.

Throughout her life she performed a variety of jobs, such as manufacturing, stitching and weaving.
Eleanor kept life simple and knew how to live it well by enjoying the little things. She enjoyed catering to
her indoor and outdoor plants, canning goods, playing bingo, fishing, and had a love for animals;
domestic and wild. Anyone who met Eleanor would describe her as a sweet yet sparky woman who was
always quick to make a sarcastic comment that kept everyone smiling.

Eleanor is survived by her sons Frederick (Joyce) MacKenzie, Robert Gray Jr, Michael Gray, and daughters
Dorinda Louise, Ellen Champney and Carlena (David) Martin, her siblings Rolla (Dale) Gerlack, Frank
(Marchelle) Gerlack, and Della (Edward) O'Mullen. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Eleanor will live on in the hearts of
everyone who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, brothers Henry Gerlack Jr., William Gerlack, Alfred
Gerlack, Clarence Gerlack and sisters Shirley Smith, Madgeline Gerlach, Cecilia Brown and her beloved
son Harry MacKenzie Jr.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday May 17, 2024 at 12Noon at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton, NH, family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers and cards, donations may be made in her memory to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire, Concord, NH.
