Eileen Louise Arnold "Peggy", age 93, died peacefully at home, on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
Born October 26, 1920 in London, England, the daughter of Louisa Maude (Chennells) and Reuben Douglas Lunn, she was the last of five children.
She served in the Royal Air Force (WAAF) from 11/12/1941 to 1/11/1946, and was widowed at the age of twenty. She came to America, after the war, in May 1946 and became a United States Citizen. She worked as a hairdresser for fifty years, having trained in Europe.
Peggy had resided in Farmington, NH since 1985. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, piano, painting, reading, cooking and gardening.
Widow of the late Eugene F. Arnold, who died in 2005, they had been married for fifty years. She is survived by a son: D. Neal and wife Margie Iverson and daughters: Cherylyn Randolph LeBrun and husband Jon LeBrun and Jean Louise Breton, five grandchildren: Pascha Griffiths, Eli Marlin, Leah Wright, Claire Burt and Alice Iverson, four great grandchildren: Paul and Caleb Griffiths, Averit Marlin and Lucia Burt.
Eileen served and cared for others faithfully and in her last days, served as a prayer warrior. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her by the sharing of her faith and the love of her Saviour.
There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to a funeral service on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00am at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington, NH with Rev. Richard Rizzi, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at 1:00pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
