Obituary

Edward D. Shilo, "Ed", age 83, of Sleepy Hollow Road in Wolfeboro, died January 23, 2012.

Born May 23, 1928 in Needham, MA, the son of Stephen and Josephine Shilo, Ed lived in Westwood, MA for many years and moved to Alton Bay, NH in 1988 and resided in Wolfeboro, NH since 2002.

He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was also a licensed, master electrician and proprietor of Mayer Electric Company in Westwood, MA until his retirement to the Lakes Region in 1988.

Ed loved fishing of all types – especially fly fishing. He was also an avid golfer.

Widower of the late Katherine H. "Kay" (Mayer) Shilo, who died in 2006, he is survived by their son Robert and wife Claudia Shilo of Wolfeboro; 3 grandchildren: Douglas Shilo of Allston, MA, Jeffrey Shilo of Billerica, MA and Amy Goldy of Broomfield, CO; 2 great grandchildren: Reghan and Sean Goldy; 2 sisters: Barbara and husband Mark Devane of Natick, MA, Priscilla and husband Gene Wallace of Westwood, MA and also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Edward D. Shilo, Jr. in 2001 and 7 siblings: Paula, John, Henry, Agnes, Francis, Joseph and Stanley.

Calling hours are Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January, 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Community Church of Alton on Church Street in Alton with Rev. Larry Adams, pastor, officiating.
