Edward Michael Godfrey, age 84, of Rolling Wood Drive Wolfeboro, NH passed on February 28, 2018. Formerly of Randall Drive Sanbornville, NH.
Ed was born in Salem, MA on August 24, 1933, son of Thomas P. and Josephine G. (O'Connor) Godfrey. He was a graduate of Saint John's Prep School and Norwich University and lived in Kittery, ME and Sanbornville, NH during his retirement years.
A United States Army Veteran, Ed served 4 years at Ft. Carson, CO in support of the 10th Mt. Division at Camp Hale.
He was a Mechanical Engineer for PERA(SS) at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Ed loved time outdoors, was an experienced skier and enjoyed spending time with his family at Sugarloaf and Gunstock. Summers were spent sailing in the Portsmouth Harbor and on Lovell Lake.
Ed is survived by three sons, Dennis M. and wife Wannetta Godfrey of Spring, TX, Kevin E. and wife Mary Godfrey of Stratham, NH, Christopher T. Godfrey of Commerce City, CO and one daughter, Diane M. (Godfrey) and husband David Servinsky of Silverthorne, CO, one sister, Patricia Hill of Marblehead, MA, together with six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Phyllis (Foss) Godfrey April 23, 1998.
Calling hours are Friday March 2, 2018 from 10am to 11am followed by a service at the Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH 03835. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville, NH.
