Obituary

Wolfeboro and Alton Bay, NH

Edward V. Casaccio Jr. passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 21st, 2014.  Edward was born in Everett, Massachusetts on June 2, 1934 to Edward V. Sr. and Marion (Lombardi) Casaccio.  He was the devoted husband to Marie (Schifano), and father to Lisa and Ed of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, Eric of Los Angeles, California, and Grandfather to Charlie of Alton Bay, New Hampshire.

It was one evening at a high school dance that Edward met Marie; the love of his life. They caught each other's eyes and Marie walked by and said "Hi, blue eyes."  That evening, Edward ended up driving Marie back to her house and when he got home, Edward told his mother he met the girl he was going to marry.  Lo and behold, on January 26th, 1958, they wed.

In 1962, Edward and Marie moved to 255 Walnut Street in Saugus, Massachusetts where he sold a used car from his driveway for twice what he paid for it and said to himself, "How long has this been going on?" and a very successful career in the automobile business began.  Soon after, Edward purchased a piece of land in Alton Bay, New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee and built his family a vacation home.

At the height of his career, Edward owned three new car dealerships with the following franchises; Lincoln Mercury, Toyota, Dodge and Subaru. The part of the business he enjoyed the most was used cars. He loved to go to "the auctions" and purchase vehicles that he would bring back to his dealerships, recondition them, and sell them. He was very passionate about his work, a trait that he proudly passed on to his three children.

With all his success, he was proud to move his family to 11 Lantern Lane, Lynnfield, Mass; a suburban town he always wanted to live in.  Edward also enjoyed spending summers on Lake Winnipesaukee with his family where the love of boating began with motor boats, sailboats, and eventually yachting on the ocean.  He was always a man of leisure which led to another dream come true, the purchase of a 53 foot Hatteras Motor Yacht named "My Leisure". Edward had many wonderful memories cruising the Atlantic Ocean with family and friends.

Even with his many great accomplishments, providing for his family was always his top priority.  Edward worked very hard his whole life to create a foundation for his family that would last a lifetime.  He had a comical sense of humor and many unique antidotes that he would ever so willingly share.  His most favorite and memorable one is "The Picture Window of Life"; a wonderful life he created for his family.  He will always be loved and with us in spirit.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH 03835.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Huggins Hospital, 240 South Main Street, Wolfeboro, NH 03894, for their excellent care and comfort.
