Dorothy M. LaPointe, age 94, of Old Bay Road in New Durham, died October 7, 2013 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
Born November 13, 1918 in North Berwick, Maine, the daughter of Albert and Lila Murdo, she resided in South Berwick, Maine for years and resided in New Durham, NH since her marriage in 1951.
A loving homemaker and mother, she was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and crocheting and traveling in New England with "Papa" LaPointe.
Widow of the late Richard A. LaPointe, who died in 2009, she is survived by their 3 sons: Gary and wife Maria Cathcart of Greenville, SC, Terry and wife Nicole LaPointe of West Burke, VT, Ricky and wife Brenda LaPointe of Wolfeboro, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son: Ronald Cathcart, 2 brothers and 2 sisters: Eddie, Margaret, Elsie and Francis.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH from 9-10am, with a graveside prayer at 10:30 am at John C. Shirley Cemetery in New Durham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the New Durham Library, Main Street, New Durham, NH 03855.
