Dorothy E. Furber, age 90, of Silver Street in Farmington, died March 16, 2017 at The Pines in Newmarket.

Born May 22, 1926 in Athens, Vermont, a daughter of Charles and Ida (Sanders) Pratt, the family moved to Farmington, NH, where she has resided all of her life, most recently with her nephew Chris and his wife Debbie Pratt. Dot was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1944.

She was retired from Farmington National Bank, having worked there for 48 years.

Dot was an avid member of the First Congregational Church of Farmington, a Jubilee member for 50 years, serving as Superintendent of Sunday School for many years, also a member of the Women's Fellowship at church.

She enjoyed knitting, sewing, puzzles and bird watching.

Predeceased by her husband Myron Furber, step-daughter in law Gayle Furber, step grandchildren: Bethany and Eric Furber, a brother Donald Pratt and 2 sisters: Millie Evans and Ethel Degrace.

Survived by her stepchildren: David and wife Carrie Furber and Richard Furber, step granddaughter: Debbie and husband Eric Nelson, sister in law: Ruth Pratt, 1 step-great grandson, also several nieces and nephews.

Her family extends a special thanks to the staff at The Pines of Newmarket.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1pm at First Congregational Church, 400 Main Street in Farmington, NH with Rev. Kent Schneider, Interim Minister, officiating. Family and friends are welcome to a calling hour prior to the service from 11:30am to 1pm at church. Urn interment will be private at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: VNA/Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867. Cremation care by Peaslee Funeral Home of Farmington.
