Donald A. Littlefield, Jr., age 77, of Hornetown Road in Farmington, died August 2, 2015 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, after a period of failing health.
Born June 26, 1938 in Rochester, the son of Donald A. Littlefield, Sr. and Hilda Mae (Senter) Littlefield, he resided in Farmington all his life.
A Veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
He was self employed as "Littlefield Apartments".
Don was a thoughtful and generous man, a kind soul, who had a love for wildlife. He owned a nontraditional farm that was locally known to accept unwanted animals. He enjoyed the outdoor life and could often be seen driving his horse and buggy around town. Friends and family shared memories of fishing expeditions, often time, night time adventures, horn pouting.
He was an avid woodworker that could detect minute differences without batting an eye. He was a visionary when it came to building restoration, seeing what others could not. A person people would turn to for advice when remodeling, offering his expertise unconditionally.
Those who were close to him, knew of his sweet tooth, enjoying an ice cream sundae with hot fudge and pineapples, NO nuts! He and his wife Beth of 42 years, shared many adventures traveling across country and back and forth to Florida. One of his fondest memories during his travels was visiting the Grand Canyon, overcome by awe at the natural beauty.
A man of few words that spoke through his actions. He garnered the love and respect to those that knew him and will be sorely missed.
Survived by his loving wife: Beth Littlefield, their daughter: Angela and husband Corey Sylvain, a granddaughter: Kiara Grigware, 2 stepdaughters: Lori Nichols and Robin Rodriguez, 4 stepgrandchildren: Joshua Mensch, Matthew Nichols, Andrea Rodriguez and Natalya Rodriguez, 2 great grandchildren, also 2 aunts and several cousins.
