IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald E.
Howard, Sr.
January 30, 1945 – December 27, 2024
Donald E. Howard Sr., age 79, of Farmington, NH, passed away on December 27, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born on January 30, 1945, to Everett (Jack) and Marion Howard, Donald was a lifelong resident of Farmington. He attended local schools and graduated from Farmington High School in 1963. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett (Jack) and Marion Howard, and his brother, Ronald J. Howard.
Donald made a lasting impact on his community through his many years of dedicated service. He was an active member of the Farmington Civil Defense, and the Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and was a Captain of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department. Donald also owned and operated Donald E. Howard Contracting Co. and Newland Rentals for more than 40 years.
Donald was a passionate roller skater, a hobby that brought him great joy and connection with others. His love for roller skating led him to become a key player in organizing the popular charity basketball game between the Farmington Police Department and the Sunset Roller Skating Rink. This event, which raised money for the Jaws of Life for the Farmington Ambulance Corps, was a testament to his spirit of giving and his commitment to the safety and well-being of his community.
Donald's greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his six children: Catherine (Steve Moore) Howard of Nottingham, NH, Everett (Lisa) Howard of Rochester, NH, Donald Jr. Farmington NH, Adam (Jenn) Howard of Pittsfield, NH, Joseph Howard of Farmington, NH, and Elizabeth Howard of Spring City, TN. He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Donald will be deeply missed by all of his loved ones.
