Donald K. Hanson, age 88, of Brackett Road in Sanbornville, died December 13, 2012 at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 11, 1924 in Sanbornville, the son of Ralph W. and Marjorie (Knight) Hanson, he was raised there and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Bentley College and Northeastern University. He resided in Malden and North Reading, MA for 22 years and moved back home to Sanbornville in 1977.
A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II and the Korean War.
Don was employed as an Accountant at Whitings Milk in Charlestown, MA from 1946-1973 and prior to retirement, he worked as an Accountant at Ray's Marina in Milton for 13 years.
He was a 60 year member of Unity Fraternal Ch. No. 62 F. & A.M. in Union.
Don enjoyed boating on Lovell Lake and snowmobiling.
Widow of the late Dorothy M. (Lee) Hanson, who died in 2005, he is survived by their son Robert K. Hanson of Sanbornville, a daughter in law Karen Hanson of Sanford, Maine, 3 grandchilden: Debbie, Jason and Amanda Hanson, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Barbara Trafton of Sanbornville, Mary and husband William Wiles of Rochester, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Glenn C. Hanson in 1995.
A Graveside Service will be held at Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville, with Pastor Brad Trafton, his nephew, officiating.
