Dianna Lynn Espeaignette Smolin, age 55 of Alton, New Hampshire passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 19, 2022 from natural causes. Dianna was born January 21, 1967 to George and Astrid Espeaignette. A graduate of Windham High School, Maine, Dianna was a loving mother, daughter, sister, Aunt and friend.
Her love of helping others was evident through her career where she received her Bachelor of Science from University of Southern Maine and then continued her work as an enthusiastic and loving Emergency Room/Cardiac ICU nurse. Her most recent position being at St.Elizabeth's in Brighton, Massachusetts.
Dianna was an avid outdoors woman. She would often be found enjoying a hike, doing some beach combing, and bird watching. Many of her years were spent enjoying boating and lake life with her family on Winnipesaukee. She was a passionate photographer, and would not be found leaving home without her camera in hand.
Dianna's biggest joy was her family. Her sons Isaac and Kaleb were the apple of her eye, you were sure to see this in her attendance at any event they were participating in. Dianna had a love of passing on knowledge, music and photography with those close to her. The room was always brighter when she walked in, and you could count on her for a hearty laugh.
Dianna is survived by her sons Isaac and Kaleb Smolin, her mother Astrid Harrington Espeaignette, siblings Laurie (Tom) Duncanson; Ed Espeaignette; Cary (Valerie) Espeaignette. She is also survived by 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 5 great nieces and 5 great nephews, many close loved ones in coastal Maine and her beloved dogs Libby and Mitch. Also survived by the father of her sons Jonathan Smolin.
Dianna is predeceased by her father George Espeaignette and her dogs Shelby, Duke, Autumn, Memphis, and Fitzgerald.
Dianna was a force of life, she was never settling and always striving to challenge herself and others. When faced with any challenges she would find a way to persevere including winning her battle with Colon Cancer.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday April, 28th from 4-6pm with a memorial service beginning at 5:30pm at the Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street in Alton, NH.
