David G. Pratt, 76, of Union, NH beloved husband of Sandra E. Pratt, passed away August 13, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Rochester NH, February 16, 1946, David was the son of John C. Pratt and Martha (Bailey) Pratt. A lifelong resident of Union, David attended school in the village and graduated from Nute High School in Milton, NH.
In his early years, Dave worked in the ceiling tile industry for John C. Pratt Company, a family business and pursued a law enforcement career working for the Town of Wakefield. Dave worked for several plumbing and heating companies in the Dover area, retiring from F.W Webb as their inventory manager.
Dave was a Mason and member of Charter Oak Lodge, #58 in Effingham, NH. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Dave built a sugar house and was known for producing and selling Maple Syrup each spring. A labor of love, Dave spent many years working on the family camp located in Wentworths Location and he enjoyed fishing, "hunting" being with family and friends and playing a good game of cards. Dave also loved to play the guitar, picking up where he left off in his early years and took lessons from a local music shop.
Dave , married 57 years, is survived by his wife Sandra. He is also survived by daughter Karen (Hayden) Clough of Danville, NH, Daughter Laura (Richard) Marriott of Carlisle, PA, and son David (Chrissie) Pratt Jr. of Middleton, NH, six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. David leaves his sisters Barbara (Barry) Griffith of Shrewsbury , VT, Jean Lynch of Freedom, NH, and Luann (Barry) Rollins of Freedom, NH as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. David was preceded by his parents, John and Martha Pratt, his brother John C. Pratt Jr. and his brother-in-law Dennis Lynch.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday August 20, 2022, at Milton Mills Cemetery, 391-489 Applebee Rd, Milton Mills, NH 03852.
