David E. Mosher, 71, of Water Street in Farmington, died May 2, 2011 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness.



Born May 9, 1939 in Rochester, son of Harold and Alberta (Willard) Mosher, he was a lifelong resident of Farmington and a graduate of Farmington High School.



He was a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served in the United States Army.



David was Treasurer of the Farmington Country Club, he was an avid golfer, spending much of his free time on the links with "Batch", Dan and Fred. He was Varsity Golf Coach at Farmington High School for the past 27 years. He had been inducted in the NHIAA Coach's Hall of Fame for his many years of coaching. He had also been an active member of the Farmington 500 Boys and Girls Club, having served as Treasurer, Coach, Umpire and anywhere else he was needed. He was always at the games for his kids; no matter if they were at Farmington or Worcester, MA, he was in the stands cheering them on. He was inducted into the Farmington Sports Hall of Fame, last year.



He retired 9 years ago from grocery management, having served in that capacity at Sawyer Mills, Siegel City, S&S Discount Foods and most recently, Cardinal's Convenience Store and The Big Apple.



Survived by his wife of 49 years Joyce (Manson) Mosher and their 5 children: Gary and wife Denise Mosher, Vickie and husband Tim DiPrizio, Stephen and wife Kellie Mosher, Lynette and husband Dan Place, Kevin and wife Nichole Mosher, 11 grandchildren: Megan, Gary Jr. and Kyle Mosher, Jacob and Emma DiPrizio, Ben and Amanda Chase, Cameron and Matthew Place, Makenna and Joshua Mosher, 1 great grandson Gavin Gorton, 4 sisters: Carol Kobelski, Marilyn Mosher, Catherine Ackerman and Maureen Hall, several Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, mother in law Dorothy Manson and brother in law Jim Quinn. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.



Calling hours are Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel J. Sinibaldi, pastor of St. Peter's Church, officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
