FARMINGTON - David A. Lessard, 62, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Rochester on January 24, 1950 to Donald F. and Irene (Hebert) Lessard. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Spaulding High School.

He served two tours in Vietnam with the US Marines RECON and was discharged with honors. He worked for 30 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the Rigging Department, retiring in 2005.

He was full of life, enjoyed the outdoors, long weekend rides throughout New Hampshire and Maine, shooting pool, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. His personality filled the room.

He leaves behind his parents, his wife and companion of 23 years, Candace Burrell of Farmington, two children, Kirsty Nichols and her husband Bill of Eliot, Maine and their children Alexandra and Dylan. Corey Lessard and his wife Sara of Wells, Maine and their children Landon and Peyton. A brother Michael Lessard and his wife Donna of Rochester, a niece, nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins, loving in-laws and many friends.
A mass of Christian buriel will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rochester with reception following. Interment will take place at the NH State Veteran's Cemetary in Boscowen, NH on Monday February 13, 2012 at noon.
