David Eugene Eiche of Hollis, NH left this life unexpectedly on August 31, 2023, after an accident and complications.

Born in Philadelphia to Juliet (Gentry) Eiche and Louis Blair Eiche, David attended Drexel University. There he discovered computer science, which led him to a software engineering career working for several of the earliest commercial software vendors. He spent more than 25 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, ultimately relocating to their Spitbrook Road facility in Nashua, New Hampshire to work for VMS Engineering.

After retiring in 2007, David continued tinkering in the field by developing Apple applications and experimenting with Raspberry Pi hardware.

Even at 80, David was curious and always learning. Ice dance, German, spaceships, cellular biology, viniculture, his Porsche, ballet, his interests were wide-ranging. He had a playful sense of humor, a kind heart, an amazing wine collection, and a fondness for talking with smart young people.

David leaves behind his beloved wife Denise Dumas, with whom he resided in Hollis for 23 years, and his sweet old cat Wiley. Also his nieces and nephews Zach Lewis, Anita Dumas Parsons, Sarah Lewis Adler, and Greg Dumas, his cousin Amanda Raphael and her children Jeremy, Gentry and Tayler, and their families. Denise is planning a memorial service in early October.
