Cheryle Sargent (Anthony) 71, of Strafford NH passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and holding the hand of her devoted husband of 52 years, Bradford Sargent.
Cheryle was born on November 1, 1952 to Leonard and Priscilla Anthony and grew up on the Anthony family farm in Northwood NH with her 5 siblings. She worked in the fields on the family farm and in roadside farm stand Anthony's, on route 4 in Northwood. She attended Dover High School where she and Brad met, fell in love and were married before they graduated; after graduation, they began building their life together in various locations, before settling down in Strafford. Cheryle and Brad's love for each other was like no other. They enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time together going to the ocean, taking in the views during road trips to the white mountains and fishing as well as many other activities.
Cheryle and Brad have four children that they love more than anything. Lucinda, Crystal, Wendy and Bradford Sargent Jr. Cheryle was always a wonderful mother. She often participated in school and recreational events, always enjoyed going on day trips to amusement parks and loved any event where pictures could be taken and memories could be made. She had a fun spirit, was caring, loving and above all, she was always there when advice was needed or even just to listen and offer a hand to hold or a hug. She was proud of all her children and loved them unconditionally. She was active in each of their lives and loved being a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother.
Cheryle had a love for animals of every type, especially dogs. She had various hobbies. She enjoyed crafting, quilting and sewing. She enjoyed making wooden yard decorations. She loved decorating inside and outside for every occasion and season, and loved the Hollidays that were spent with family. She was often found working in her gardens, enjoying the fresh air or sitting in the swing with her husband. She enjoyed having visitors and family gatherings. Wherever she was and no matter who she was around, she always could put a smile on someone's face. She loved to play bingo, play scratch tickets and go to casinos.
Cheryle had a love for children and working with the elderly. She provided at home daycare for local children, she was a meals on wheels driver for many years before becoming a LNA. She worked at a Concord Nursing Home for nearly 30 years during which time she was awarded LNA of the year. She took great pride in her work and cared deeply for everyone she knew and worked with.
Cheryle departed this world leaving behind her loving husband Bradford Sargent of Strafford NH, their daughters, Lucinda & Werner Reinhardt of Farmington NH, Crystal Leblanc of San Diego CA, Wendy & Tim O'Dell of Somersworth NH and their son Bradford Sargent Jr. of Strafford NH. Cheryle was blessed to have 7 grandchildren who meant the world to her: Dominique Fanjoy, Dwayne Fanjoy Jr, Brittany Prince, Jordan Sargent, Kayla Turner, Jet Doucet and Jacob Reinhardt. She was further blessed to have 2 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life: Haley Deane and Ophelia DeWitt. Cheryle had a big heart and loved each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply. She was survived by her siblings: Linda White, Steve Anthony and wife Judy, Christine Averill, Larry Anthony and wife Cheri and is predeceased by her brother Michael Anthony. Cheryle had many family members including Brad's sisters, brothers and their spouses; she had many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as if they were her own, including a God Son, Shane Perkins. Cheryle had many other relatives and friends that she enjoyed spending time with.
Cheryle will be missed by all and will continue to live inside our hearts forever. To honor and celebrate her life, a memorial service followed by a celebration of life will be held at the Northwood Advent Christian Church on Friday November 3rd at 11:00AM.
