Charles Alban Foster, Jr., age 83, of Main Street in New Durham, died April 3, 2015 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born March 19, 1932 in New London, Connecticut, son of Charles Alban Foster, Sr. and Josephine (Smith) Foster, they resided in Farmington, NH for many years, he attended Farmington High School, Class of 1950.

He joined the United States Army in 1950, serving in Korea in the Second Infantry Division and was recipient of a Purple Heart.

Charlie worked for the United States Postal Service, serving as PostMaster in Union, NH, for many years, retiring in 1989.

A member of American Legion Post #60, former Commander and finance officer for many years, a member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W. Also a Mason with Fraternal Lodge #71 F.&A.M. A Past President of NARFE Chapter 1055 of Rochester and a former Cub Scout Master.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survived by his wife of 55 years: Arlene (Hill) Foster and 3 sons: Steven Foster, David Foster and Jeffrey Foster, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandsons.

A special thank you by the family to the nurses and Dr. David Olken at Frisbie Memorial Hospital for their care.

A Graveside Service will be held later in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH.
