IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carole Ann
Todd
June 25, 1940 – July 3, 2021
South Portland, Maine
Carole Ann Todd, age 81, formerly of Wakefield Road in Union, NH, passed away July 3, 2021 at South Portland Nursing Home, where she was very well cared for and loved.
She was born in Worcester, MA on June 25, 1940. She received her Nursing Degree from Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital and worked as a Registered Nurse for the American Red Cross in Boston, MA and the Clipper Home in Rochester, NH. Carole and her husband, Jim, also owned and operated Max's Country Store in Union, NH for many years. She really loved helping people.
Carole enjoyed playing cards, going on vacation and spending time at the beach (especially the Cape and Goose Rocks Beach and Biddeford Pool, ME) with friends and family. For about 20 years, she and Jim rented a place at Biddeford Pool. Their whole family, and friends, came at different times and all have nothing but wonderful memories from all of those years. She was the most caring and nonjudgmental person, making all feel welcomed. The loss of Carole has been a hard loss for a lot of people.
She loved all animals, especially her cats, dogs and backyard birds. She and Jim, with family and friends, would organize yard sales to raise money for the local humane society.
She was such a beautiful person, so sweet, kind, loving and funny, with an infectious laugh, she could even laugh at herself. She loved her grandchildren very much and enjoyed laughing and eating Dove chocolates with them.
She was the daughter of the late Anna and Bernard Loughnane Sr. She is survived by her beloved daughter Maureen and her husband Chad Greene, two grandchildren, Max and Zella Greene, her brother, Bernard Loughnane Jr. and his wife Sheila Loughnane, two sisters-in-law, Mary Weinert and Cindy Lilley and her husband Jeff Lilley, one brother in law, Richard Todd and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 37 years James R. Todd Jr. on July 28, 2007, their daughter who passed away at birth, Angel Todd, her sister-in-law Helene Todd and her brother-in-law Karl Weinert.
