Alton Bay, NH

Carol Ann Richardson (nee Flood), born June 12, 1941, in Winthrop MA, passed peacefully in her home in Alton Bay, New Hampshire on October 24, 2023.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul A. Richardson. She is survived by:

• her daughter Donna Richardson and her wife Joy Brand-Richardson of Felton DE
• her daughter Cheryl Richardson Hickox, her husband Tracy W. Hickox, their children Taylor L. Hickox and Kevin W. Hickox of Annapolis MD
• her son Scott M. Richardson, his wife Nancy Richardson, their children Kyle R. Richardson and Abby R. Richardson of Woodstock GA

Carol was very proud of her family, her heritage, and her small town of Alton, NH. She actively volunteered on the Alton Beach committee, the Garden Club, Alton Old Home Week, and UNH Alumni activities. Favorite activities included swim team summers in Montgomery County, MD; "F" dock shenanigans at Herrington Harbour in Deale, MD;  weekly knitting circle at the Alton library; serving as "Cookie Mom" at the annual 5K in Alton and wintering in St. Augustine FL. Carol and her husband Paul, who met and married at the University of New Hampshire, traveled 6 of the 7 continents and she was one of the most patriotic people you could ever meet. She was quick with a smile and had an open door in her home and her heart. Her lifetime collection of friends has lost a true light.

Carol will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 1-3pm at the Old Alton Bay Boston & Maine Railroad Station, 164 NH-11, Alton Bay, NH 03810.
