Middleton, N.H.

Carlo M. DeSimone, 84, of Dudley Drive, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, following a period of declining health. His daughter, Christine, and his sister, Diane, were by his side.

He was born on November 18, 1941, in Revere, Massachusetts, the son of the late John A. and Deleta (Pagliarulo) DeSimone.

Carlo graduated in 1959 from Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Newton, Massachusetts. In his early years, he worked in the produce department at the Waltham Supermarket for several years. He then went on to start his own residential and commercial cleaning company.

In 1973, Carlo's journey brought him to Middleton, N.H., where he bought a home in the Sunrise Lake Association community and lived for the next fifty-one years. While residing in Middleton, Carlo enjoyed a long, successful thirty-year career at Davidson Rubber Co. in Farmington, N.H. Following the closure of the plant, he was employed in the food service industry at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H., and later worked at Lowe's in Rochester, N.H. He thoroughly enjoyed each of these roles and remembered his working years with great fondness, deeply appreciating the lifelong friendships he formed along the way.

Throughout his life and into retirement, Carlo found immense joy in his many hobbies. At the top of his list was fishing with dear friends, and especially with his beloved grandsons. He was a die-hard Red Sox fan who rarely missed a game, always eager for the action and the excitment. Carlo also shared his love of food with many, often gifting delicious dishes as a gesture of his affection. Music was another life long passion, with country music holding a special place in his heart. He played both the guitar and the ukulele, warming many hearts, creating smiles, and bringing laughter during lively sing-alongs.

Carlo also loved his poker family deeply. He ran his poker club for over twenty-five years, building lasting friendships with each member around the table. The club proudly continues to play in his honor today.

In his final year, Carlo was lovingly and attentively cared for by his daughter, Christine DeSimone, in the comfort of her home. Together, they filled his final days with his favorite activities and ongoing joy.

Carlo was a devoted father and is survived by his daughter, Christine DeSimone of Rochester, N.H.; his sons, Michael Bridges and his wife, Amy, of Milton, N.H., and Donald Bridges of Newton, Mass. He is also survived by his brother, John DeSimone of Pocasset, Mass.; and his sisters, Deleta McMullin of Osterville, Mass., Diane Donnellan of Framingham, Mass., and Denise DeSimone of Plymouth, Mass. Carlo will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and many lifelong friends.

Friends and family are invited to visitation and a celebration of Carlo's life on Saturday September 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, N.H. 03835. A reception for family and friends, will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the lower level at Farmington House of Pizza, 485 Main Street in Farmington.
