Obituary

Bradford A. Jones, 63, passed away on January 8, 2026 with his son Brian by his side. He had been fighting a lengthy battle with Cancer and made every moment count, eventually succumbing to injuries sustained doing what he loved: Snowmobiling.

Bradford was born on February 23, 1962 at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, MA and was the son of Bradford H. Jones, and Virginia Jones. He earned his Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology from UNH's Thomspon School. After earning construction and survey experience at Midway Excavators, he joined the family company, Jones & Beach Engineers, in 1987. Started by his father and his brother Randall Jones, Bradford eventually became Vice President in 2000.

Bradford lived in Alton, in a subdivision he developed with his father, together with his Wife, Kelly Jones, and their dog Ace.

Bradford was the reason for the phrase "keeping up with the Joneses."
There were no such things as half-measures in his mind. He loved to travel and enjoy the finer things in life. In summer he could often be found on his boat that he kept docked at his parent's lakehouse, wearing his "Captain Brad" hat. He kept his boat in the lake long after the end of boating season so he could enjoy the serenity of Lake Winnipesaukee in the off-season. In Winter he could instead be found up north in Colebrook, where he and many family and friends would meet at a house they would stay at for most of the season adjacent to the Snowmobile trails and ride hundreds of miles in a day.

He had an excellent sense of humor. He was passionate and reliable and would not hesitate to render any assistance he could to those who asked. He most loved spending time with his family and was embracing his newest role as a grandfather. He loved to cook, entertain, and host the most extraordinary Independence Day parties. He loved to provide tours on the lake that he knew like the back of his hand. He loved music and would attend multiple concerts each summer at his favorite venue in Gilford.

Bradford will be remembered as a builder. Most in the field stop at design, but uniquely in addition to design Bradford built roads. He built houses. He built septic systems. He built a company. He built a family. He built a legacy. He was one of a kind.

Bradford was predeceased by his brother, Randall in 2000, and by his father, Bradford in 2020. He leaves behind his wife, Kelly Jones, his mother, Virginia (Ginny) Jones, his sister, Anya James, his two sons: Brian and Lucas Jones, his two step-sons: Lawson and Garrett, his grandchildren, Nora, Aria, and Austin, his nephew Anthony, his niece Ashley, and many cousins.

A service will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Alton with the viewing on Thursday, January 15 from 4pm to 7pm and the funeral mass on Friday, January 16 at 11am. Please tune into www.stkdrexel.org/ at 11am to watch a live broadcast of the Mass. He will be laid to rest in the Spring, at a date to be determined, next to his brother Randall at Locust Grove Cemetery in Newfields. A celebration of life will be scheduled for the summer of 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 45th Parallel EMS, Pittsburgh Ridgerunners, Mt. Major Snowmobile Assn., or to St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org
