Betty A. Andersen, a lifelong resident of Barrington, NH, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength. Born in Rochester, NH, she was the cherished daughter of the late Cora and Walter Harding, the devoted wife of the late Albert J. Andersen, predeceased by her brother Richard W. Harding, and beloved cousin, Muriel Knecht.
Betty spent many years working in Quality Control and retired from Moore Business Forms in Dover, NH. Her attention to detail and strong work ethic were admired by all who worked alongside her.
Outside of work, Betty found joy in gardening, quilting, and knitting. Her altruistic spirit shone brightly through her countless acts of kindness—most notably, knitting hundreds of mittens over the years to donate to children in need. She was a founding member of the N-Bar-H Riding Club, where she shared her love of horses and built lasting friendships. Betty was also honored by the Crown Point Grange for an extraordinary 75 years of devoted membership, reflecting her lifelong commitment to community service.
A woman of deep faith, Betty was a longtime member of Crown Point Baptist Church, where she found spiritual comfort and a strong sense of fellowship. She also used her cooking and baking skills to support the Church's Turkey Dinner fellowship, contributing to the warmth and hospitality of the community she loved.
She is survived by her son, James W. Andersen, and his wife Cheryl; her granddaughters, Julie Andersen and Wendy Andersen; and her grandson, James A. Andersen, and his wife Jennifer. Betty also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Yergeau and Wesley Andersen, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Betty will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, 10:00 am at Rochester Cemetery, 17 Franklin Street in Rochester, NH, to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local children's charity or community organization in Betty's memory.
