Bessie J. George, age 84, of Hackett Lane in Hampton, died November 3, 2013, at her daughter Ann's home in Farmington, NH.

Born October 31, 1929 and raised in Boston, MA, the daughter of John and Georgia Pappaspyros, she had resided in Rochester, NH and lived in Hampton, NH the past sixty years.

Bessie had served as Governor of the Daughters of Penelope, of three states. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Portsmouth and sang in their choir, she was also a member of the Grange for many years and a member of other Greek American organizations.

A homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Widow of the late Steve J. George, who died in 2010, they were married for 62 years. She is survived by their 4 children: Demetrios George, Mary George and Peter J. George, all of Hampton, Ann and husband John Titus of Farmington, 4 grandchildren: Kara, John and Faith Titus, all of Farmington and Peter J. George, Jr. of Hampton, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son: John George.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 7, 2013 at 11:00 at the Dormination of the Virgin Mary Greek Church in Somersworth, NH, interment will follow at the Greek Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: St. Nicholas Church in Portsmouth, NH or the American Cancer Society.
