Barbara A. Singelais, a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and artist, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on February 23, 1938, Barbara lived a life rich in creativity, family devotion, and enduring connections to the places and people she loved.
A long-time resident of Wakefield, New Hampshire, Barbara was the beloved wife of the late MSG Clifford A. Singelais. Her legacy of love continues through her children: Nancy A. Morton of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; Debra E. O'Halloran of Wakefield, New Hampshire; Sharyn R. Ciampa and husband Anthony of Rochester, New Hampshire; and John J. Singelais and wife Carole of Temple, New Hampshire. She joins in peace, her late son, veteran Clifford D. Singelais (Clif). Barbara is also survived by her dear sister, Sharyn Frassica and husband Peter of Bonita Springs, Florida, and leaves behind a proud lineage of 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Barbara possessed a deep appreciation for the world's natural beauty, which she captured vividly through her talents in painting and photography. Her sharp eye and creative spirit allowed her to share her unique perspective with everyone around her. This love for nature extended to her profound affection for animals; she was an avid pet lover who held a particularly special place in her heart for dogs.
The sea held a lifelong mystique for Barbara. She was captivated by the majesty of the ocean and the graceful presence of tall ships. This maritime bond was deeply rooted in her childhood, spent partly in Nova Scotia. Throughout her life, she maintained deep, meaningful ties to her family and heritage there, always carrying a piece of the coast in her heart.
Barbara’s warmth, artistic grace, and unwavering dedication to her family will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held at Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville NH on Saturday, July 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The cemetery sits on a hillside overlooking the water on Route 109 (Lovell Lake Road) in Sanbornville (Town of Wakefield), NH.
