On May 6, 2026, Barbara (Jones) Glidden, age 94, passed away, peacefully, at Cedar Healthcare Center in Portsmouth, NH, where she resided.

Barbara was born in a house on Chapel Street in Portsmouth, NH on October 21, 1931, a daughter of Charles Edward Dennison Jones & Helen Josephine (Bennett) Jones. She was a graduate of Eliot, Maine High School, Class of 1949, having served as their Salutatorian.

She worked in a clerical capacity before working for G.S. Industries, where she met her husband Bernie. They resided in Farmington, NH for many years, until his death in 2002.

Survived by her sister Priscilla M. Wilson of Rye, NH, also several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Bernard S. Glidden, Jr., her parents, and siblings: her twin brother Robert Jones, sister Virginia Jones and twin Austin Jones, brothers: Harold Jones, George Jones, Donald Jones, and nephew Charles E. Jones.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 1pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, family and friends are welcome. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington, NH.
