Barbara (Tebbetts) Fecteau, age 89, a lifelong resident of Farmington, NH, passed away Thursday night, October 27, 2022, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, who absolutely adored her.
She was born July 5, 1933 on Blaine Street in Farmington, NH, daughter of Fred O. Tebbetts and Elna (Armstrong) Henderson. Barbara worked for Dr. Robert E. Lord, since she was fourteen years old, caring for his children and being his answering service/receptionist. She also worked at Dr. Lord's Blueberry Farm for many summers. Barbara was caregiver to many teachers' children, while they worked, loving each one as if they were her own. Barbara was the most amazing woman in the world to her family and to everyone who met her. She touched so many lives with her love, caring, understanding, humor and positive attitude.
Widow of the late James R. Fecteau, Sr., she is survived by their family son: Dr. James R. & wife Rose Fecteau, 3 daughters: Sandra F. & husband Nicholas Bellevance, Susan F. Gelinas & partner W. Edwin Jodrie, and Dr. Kellie A. Fecteau. Grandchildren: Christopher Gelinas & fiance' Ashley LeBlanc, Orry & wife Kaleena Gelinas, Taryn & husband Alex Hirtle, Emily Fecteau, Emma Barbara Gelinas & partner Bradley Barbarisi, and Jessica Gelinas. Great- grandchildren, to whom she was fondly called GG: Aidan, Maleke, Sophia, Mila & Isla, her sister Jean Hodgdon, also many nieces and nephews, her son in law Robert M. Gelinas & partner Robin Moschilli, best friend Beverly O'Neil, and many very special friends who to her, were family. Her Honorary granddaughter, Kali Hite and her daughter, Mary Barbara. Predeceased by 5 siblings: Floyd, Fredora, Mildred, Marguerite & Henry, several nieces & nephews.
Her family extends a big Thank You to Mountain View Community staff, especially Mount Whittier, where Barbara resided this past year, for their continuous love and care. Barbara loved them, as they did her.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, family and friends are also welcome to a Memorial Service on Thursday November 3, 2022 at 11am at First Congregational Church on Main Street in Farmington, NH, with Pastor Kent E. Schneider officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: Mountain View Community Activities Department, 93 Water Village Road, Ossipee, NH 03864, to provide musical entertainment, which she herself enjoyed, for the residents.
