Avis A. Wallace, age 82, formerly of Westwind Estates in Rochester, died, February 19, 2011 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover.
She was born July 19, 1928 in East Corinth, Vermont, the daughter of George and Ida (Martin) Stanton.
In earlier years, Avis was a shoeworker at local shoe factories, including the former Hubbard Shoe. She was a good seamstress.
Widow of the Peter E. Wallace, who died in 2008, she is survived by 3 children: Bernard Downs of Lunenberg, VT, Ida LePage of Rochester and Barbara Gallant of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada, 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, her brother Eugene Hopkins of Milford, also numerous Nieces and Nephews.
There are no calling hours, a Graveside Service will be held in the spring at Cold Spring Cemetery in E. Rochester. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Seacoast Hospice.
