Alton, NH
Aram Sisoian passed away peacefully after a battle with pneumonia on May 6, just days before his 86th birthday. Born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, Aram lived a varied, interesting and principled life.
He is survived by wife Lucy and son Paul.
He was known for not only his professional accomplishments, but also his contributions to the world of music and his outreach to people with career and life counseling needs.
Having graduated from Northbridge High School (Northridge, Mass.) in 1955, Aram began his work in the research department at Whitin Machine Works. He would be better known at the time for his musicianship. A world class clarinetist and saxophone player, Aram's military service included a 2 year stint in Germany playing across Europe in the US Army band. Upon his return to the States, his Armenian American band, the Vanites, played widely in the northeast, including a highlighted spot at the New York State World's Fair in 1964.
His life's greatest joy was to marry his wife Lucy that same year and they would be together until his passing. Their only son, Paul was born the next year.
He attended Bryant College, and graduated with a business degree in 1967. In the 1970s and 80s, his business profession would relocate him to Saudi Arabia where he worked for American defense contractor Raytheon and traveled the world as an employment recruiter and Human Resource professional.
Later years would bring him to Alton NH to retire where he found happiness in giving back to his community through his employment ministry efforts and devotion to faith in God and belief in country.
He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, candor and generosity.
A celebration of Aram's life will be held on Sunday May 21, 2023, 1pm, at the Praise Gathering Church Building, 1803 NH Route 140, Gilmanton IronWorks, NH 03837.
