Obituary

Anthony Koban Jr. of Wolfeboro, NH formerly of Southbury and Waterbury, CT. passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Anthony was born January 20, 1931 to Anthony Koban and Pauline (Preslopsky) Koban. He was the husband of Margaret Lamson (Pasquariello) Koban.

Anthony was a graduate of Central Connecticut State College, a veteran of the US Coast Guard and prior to his retirement a teacher in the Waterbury School system for 20 plus years.

Anthony liked to travel and throughout his life he traveled to Austria, the birthplace of his parents, Canada, Germany, Ireland and England. Upon retiring he and Margaret, would spend winters in Switzerland returning in April.

Anthony (Uncle Sonny) to his family and Tony to his friends was a "True" gentleman, soft spoken, kind, generous, with a wonderful sense of humor, great smile and huge heart. He will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him. His constant companion Beauford (Beau) will be lost without him.

Anthony is survived by his wife Margaret, nieces Anne Olear, Tania Ney, Pat Glass (Larry). Nephews Jonathan Olear (Leslie), Andrew Olear III (Barbara), Michael A. Koban Jr, (Pam), Alan Koban (Masumi), Stepson Lucas "Chip" (Laura) Pasquariello and Stepgrandson Thomas Pasquariello. Great Nieces, Melissa Olear Berry, Emily Ney Roberts, Katherine Koban Braddy and Elizabeth Koban Michalopoulos. Great nephews Nicholas Olear, Grant Olear, Michael A. Koban III(Dawn) and James Ney (Kim). He also leaves several great great nieces and great great nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his brothers Michael A Koban (Madelyne), Peter Koban, his sister Mary Olear Koban and his neice Barbara Olear Gervais.

A calling hour will be held on April 4, 2022 from 11am-12noon at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Funeral Home, 430 Chase Pkwy., Waterbury, CT., followed by the service and interment at St. Mary's Orthodox Cemetery, in Waterbury.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or your favorite charity.
