Anneleen Joyce (Lajoie) Loughlin, 83, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, supported by her loving family.

Born in Van Buren Maine, daughter of Abel and Annie (Thibodeau) Lajoie, Anneleen grew up in Van Buren and Portsmouth, NH.

After graduating from Portsmouth High School, she attended Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse.  Anneleen continued her education, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Anna Maria College and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Russell Sage College.

Anneleen worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years in pediatrics, emergency rooms and geriatric medicine.  She has resided in Portsmouth for the past 3 years and previously lived in New Durham, NH for 17 years.

A parishioner of Corpus Christie Parish in Portsmouth, NH, Anneleen will be remembered for her love of quilting, ceramics, genealogy and travel.

Anneleen was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Loughlin.  She is survived by her two sons, Michael and wife Alma Loughlin, Donald and wife Leslie Loughlin, daughter Joyce and husband Brendan Bastille, her brother, Bernard Lajoie, five beloved grandchildren, Grace, Eric, Sam, Anna and Mikaila and many nieces and nephews.

Services: A memorial mass will be held on Friday June 9, 2023, 10 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth, NH.  Visitation will be at 9 AM at the church.  Urn interment will be held at 11AM at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth, NH.  A celebration of life will follow the interment at 12:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.  ALZ.org
