ROCHESTER — Anne L. Maxfield "Angel," 89, of Sagamore Lane in Rochester, passed away Aug. 30, 2010, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a long lived life.
Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Peabody, Mass., the daughter of John J. and Emily M. (Monte) LaFreniere, she resided in Rochester for the past five years and was formerly of Wakefield, N.H. since 1965.
Anne was an active community volunteer in her later adult life. For over eight years, she was a volunteer for Carroll County Against Domestic Violence and Rape, where she received training and received an award for her outstanding service. In 1995, the Wakefield Police Department recognized Anne for her outstanding dedication to voluntary service with a certificate of appreciation. Anne was truly an "Angel." She continued her close relationship with the Wakefield Police Department, deepest thanks to all they did for her.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise M. Tremblay of Danvers, Mass.; grandchildren, Michael O'Donnell, her recent caregiver of Peabody, Mass., Richard O'Donnell of Alabama, Carleen MacKay of Middleton, Mass., Willard Young of Rochester, Denis Burke and Melanie Burke, both of Peabody, Mass.; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her beloved cockatiel "Max."
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Ernest George Maxfield, and daughter, Paulette E. Brown. The family is extremely thankful to her loving and caring neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dubois.
Family and friends are welcome to a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, Sept. 2, at noon at St. Anthony's Church, Meadow Street in Sanbornville, with Fr. Edmund A. Babicz, pastor, as celebrant. A calling hour is before the Mass from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville. Interment will follow at Lovell Lake Cemetery.
