Anna A. Geddes, age 80, of Geddes Road, Gilmanton Iron Works, died November 18, 2015, at home at the family farm.
Born March 17, 1935 in Farmington, daughter of Joseph and Pauline (Terrill) Hogan, she was raised in Farmington and had been a resident of Gilmanton Iron Works for over 55 years.
Anna was a homemaker on the farm. She had worked for Globe Manufacturing, also a shoe worker, a switchboard operator at Pittsfield Shoe and she helped operate the family blueberry business.
She was a very independent woman who enjoyed watching sports, an avid Red Sox follower never missing a game. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful treasures for friends and family. Anna and her husband had been members of the Nute Ridge Bible Chapel in Milton.
Survivors include her 5 children: Stephanie Cole of Sanford, Maine, Mary Witham of Barnstead, Jacqueline Heath, Duncan Geddes and David W. Geddes, Jr., all of Gilmanton Iron Works, several grandchildren & many great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Barbara Cyr of Tennessee and Beverly Hutchins of Florida, a sister in law: Mary Morse of Gilmanton Iron Works, also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years David W. Geddes, Sr., a grandson, a great granddaughter and 6 siblings.
Calling hours are Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington, NH, with a Funeral Service at 4:00pm. Interment will be private at Smith Meeting House Cemetery in Gilmanton. If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
