LEWISTON, MAINE/FARMINGTON, NH
Ann Marie Emmi-Hardy, 66 passed away Monday, March 5th, at Colonial Hill Center in Rochester, NH after a courageous battle with ALS. Formerly of Lewiston, ME.
Born April 13, 1951 she was the daughter of Anthony and Adrienne Emmi. She attended local schools in Lewiston, Maine and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1969.
Ann worked for 36 years in retail including the Value House/Service Merchandise and Fashion Bug in Auburn, moving to Farmington, NH in 1991. Ann loved jewelry and worked at Jewelry Creations in Dover, NH for a few years and returned to work for Fashion Bug in Somersworth, NH. In 2008 she had a career change and became a driver and school bus monitor for Provider Enterprises until her illness forced her to retire 2014. Ann had a passion for history and was the past president and vice-president of the Farmington Historical Society.
Ann touched everyone she met with her infectious smile, laughter and kind words. Ann loved and cared for many animals over the years particularly homeless ones, adopting several cats and rescue greyhounds. Ann enjoyed gardening, walking and her jobs with her favorite quote being "It is what it is".
Ann is survived by her husband Bruce L. Hardy of Farmington, NH, two brothers, Marc A. Emmi and his wife, Karen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michael "Nino" Emmi and his wife, Kathy-Rae of Lewiston, ME, three nieces, Megan Emmi and Justin Bouse of Sullivan, MO, Nina Emmi and her husband, Anthony Timberman of Auburn and Mary Emmi of Brooklyn, NY, two grand-nieces, Julie and Jenna Bouse and many cousins, including Lucille Pomerleau of Lewiston who was like a sister to Ann. Ann was predeceased by her mother, Adrienne in 2004 and her father, Anthony on June 30, 2017.
As per her requests there will be no services at this time.
