Alice E. (Amazeen) Merrill, 98, of Farmington NH, passed away on February 7, 2021 in Farmington NH.

She was born in Milton NH to Walter and Lillian (Parkhurst) Amazeen on October 23, 1922 and graduated from Farmington High School in 1939.

Alice is predeceased by her husband; E Stanley Merrill and 4 sons; Warren, David, Timothy, and Glenn Merrill and by her 3 brothers; Warren, Charles, Walter Melvin Amazeen and a sister; Laurel (Amazeen) Kelly.

Alice is survived by her children; Lois Drew of Somersworth NH, Wayne and Linda (Foster) Merrill of Derry NH, Beth Merrill of Farmington NH, Gayle and Don Joy of Union NH, Jean Brown of Middleton NH, Richard and Tamra (Kilgore) Merrill of Hooper Utah, Steven and Diane (Szydlowski) Merrill of Avon Ma, and Nancy Lepene of New Durham NH; her daughters-in-law; Gail (Brown) Merrill of Farmington NH, Pamela (Brown) Merrill of Milton, Diane (Mason) Merrill of Milton and Kathleen (Fontaine) Merrill of DeLand Florida, and many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.

An avid reader, Alice enjoyed bible study. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Farmington NH and Calvary Baptist Church in DeLand Florida.

She enjoyed cross stitch, knitting, and sewing.  She played piano, harmonica and mandolin and encouraged her children to do likewise.

From birth, she lived a rich life on the farm where she kept the fire going through the night. Her quick wit instigated lots of fun times, while managing her children with a simple look.

A great caregiver and matriarch. She would always welcome whoever Dad or one of the kids brought home and would set another plate at the table.

The epitome of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, she was a devoted wife and mother, a solid piece of gold that sustained generations.

A service date is yet to be determined.
